SIMPLEX software is available to Europa Mission team members.

SIMPLEX is written in Java and can be run on any platform. It can be run via an easy-to-use Graphical User Interface (GUI) or via the command line (which is useful for batch processing).

SIMPLEX queries NAIF/SPICE kernels for the full environment geometry and can compute:

• Illumination geometry (incidence, emission, phase angles), eclipses
• Realistic mechanical articulation scheduling
• Coverage potential and data volume
